CIVIL DEFENCE CENTRES

A Civil Defence Emergency Centre is a community meeting point after a significant emergency for people who need assistance and information.

It is reliant on the local community as centres are opened and managed by trained volunteers.

Once you have checked on your household and neighbours, you may want to go to a Civil Defence Emergency Centre:

  • if you need emergency help (such as accommodation, food, clothing).
  • if you can help others by sharing resources and skills
  • to get and share information on what has happened in your neighbourhood.

If you need medical assistance during a Civil Defence Emergency  listen to the radio for information on what to do, and how to get medical assistance.

WHERE ARE THE CIVIL DEFENCE CENTRES?
During an disaster, not all Civil Defence Centres will be open. If there is an emergency, check on this website or tune in to your local radio station to find out which Civil Defence centres are open.
